Who runs Last Call

Martin Hughes operates Last Call and is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: martin@hughes.lol.

At the table

To join, you provide a guest name and choose a character. The service creates a guest identifier and keeps your room membership, connection status and game state. Other people at the table see your name, character and public game actions. Hidden hands and rolls are revealed according to the game’s rules.

A guest name is required to play; it can be a nickname. Last Call does not ask for an account, email address or payment information to play. Your own voice call is separate from Last Call; the game does not record it.

Cookies and browser storage

The essential last-call-session cookie identifies your guest session for reconnecting. It lasts seven days and is renewed when you join a table. It is protected from access by page scripts.

Your browser saves your guest name, selected character, hint and streamer preferences, and music and sound settings until you clear the site’s data. Tab session storage remembers the current table for refreshing, and whether you have answered the sound prompt. Leaving a table clears that tab’s saved table.

Room retention and security

Room state is stored while the table is active. It is cleared when the last human leaves, after all humans have been disconnected for at least a minute, or after 24 hours without a game update. Browser preferences remain on your device until you clear them.

IP addresses are used to limit repeated join requests in a short-lived, one-minute request window. Hosting providers also process network and diagnostic information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the service. Their logs and backups have separate retention policies.

Usage analytics

Vercel Web Analytics measures page visits and, where supported, events such as guide use, game selection and match completion. It also reports general visit information such as device type, browser, referrer and country. Vercel describes this analytics service as cookie-free.

Last Call removes query strings and fragments from the page addresses it sends to analytics. Its custom events use fixed categories and summary counts; they do not include guest names, guest identifiers, room codes, hidden hands or individual moves. See Vercel’s analytics privacy information.

Why this information is used

Guest sessions and room state are used to provide the game you request. Network information is used to prevent abuse and keep it available. Usage statistics help identify which features people use. Where data protection law applies, providing the game relies on performance of the service agreement; security and service improvement rely on legitimate interests.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the website and provides analytics. Cloudflare hosts the live game rooms. The page fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives the network information needed for that request. These providers may process information outside your country. Their privacy notices describe their processing and international-transfer arrangements: Vercel, Cloudflare and Google.

Your choices and rights

You can leave a table and clear Last Call’s cookies and stored site data through your browser settings. Clearing the session cookie may prevent you from recovering your seat.

Where applicable, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your personal information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email martin@hughes.lol to make a request. Describe the issue without posting session cookies, tickets or private room information publicly.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
